Next steps

After the consultation closed, consultants carried out a full analysis of all 230 responses. A summary of the consultation process, the consultants' analysis and our response to main issues has been published in a Consultation Summary Report.

Following the analysis we made changes to the consultation version of the Scheme and submitted a final version to Scheme to the Secretary of State for Food & Rural Affairs for approval, as required by the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. The Secretary of State approved the final version of the Coastal Access Scheme on 23 March 2010 and it was laid in Parliament on 25 March 2010.

The Coastal Access Scheme along with our Consultation Summary Report are now available on Natural England’s website.
